Smoke Alarm Medic LLC is a firefighter-owned and operated business proudly serving the greater Phoenix Valley. Founded on the belief that safety starts at home, we specialize in smoke alarm testing, installation, replacement, and cleaning.
After taking over the business from fellow firefighter Mike Watson in 2025, our family is honored to continue his legacy—keeping homes safe with the same care and dedication we bring to the fire service. Based in Surprise, Arizona and originally from De Pere, Wisconsin, we’re proud to blend Midwestern values with Arizona heart and are honored to keep Smoke Alarm Medic firefighter owned.

Originally founded by firefighter Mike Watson, Smoke Alarm Medic has always stood for integrity, reliability, and safety. In February 2025, the business was passed on to a new generation of owners who are committed to carrying forward Mike’s legacy. We’re honored to keep the business in firefighter hands and stay true to the mission of keeping our community safe.

Originally from De Pere, Wisconsin, Ben and Nic (owners) moved to Arizona during the COVID pandemic in search of new opportunities and sunshine—but they brought their Midwestern values with them: hard work, honesty, and putting people first.
Ben was a firefighter paramedic in the city of De Pere, Wisconsin for 29 years and during that time he was an arson investigator for 10 years. He retired in 2019 and now proudly serves the greater Phoenix Valley in servicing and installing smoke alarms.
